Look for assessment-led therapy

The right autism therapy centre should first understand the child, not immediately sell a package. A good assessment looks at communication, sensory processing, motor skills, learning, behaviour, routines, and parent concerns.

Parents should leave the first visit with clarity: what is happening, what to do next, what to practise at home, and how progress will be reviewed.

Look for parent training

Children make better progress when families know how to support communication, regulation, and routines outside the therapy room.

A centre that trains parents is usually more transparent because it wants parents to understand the process, not depend blindly on sessions.
