Therapy expectations in Chennai's most discerning neighbourhoods
Families living near Poes Garden, Boat Club Road, Teynampet, and Alwarpet are among Chennai's most informed healthcare consumers. They have access to the city's best paediatricians, international schools, and specialist doctors — and they hold therapy centres to the same standard.
These families are not looking for volume. They want a centre where one senior clinician leads the assessment, where the therapy plan is specific to their child, and where progress is reported in writing every month. That is exactly what DARC is built around.
DARC — accessible from central and south-central Chennai
DARC has two branches: Ashok Nagar (New No: 59, 7th Avenue) and Pallikaranai (5/1077, Maxworth Nagar 2nd Street). Families near Poes Garden, Teynampet, Alwarpet, and Nungambakkam are well-placed for the Ashok Nagar branch. Families closer to Adyar, Kotturpuram, and RA Puram find the Pallikaranai branch equally accessible.
Both branches operate Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 8 PM, with flexible session times designed to work around school and work schedules.
Led by Dr. Aaditya Malathy — founder and senior OT
Dr. Aaditya Malathy, OT, MS (USA), founded DARC after completing advanced occupational therapy training in the United States. He personally conducts every new family's initial consultation — not a junior therapist or front-desk assessment.
His clinical framework, Root Cause Therapy, focuses on identifying the underlying sensory, motor, reflex, and communication factors driving a child's difficulties — rather than treating visible behaviour in isolation. This approach is what families who have already seen multiple specialists typically find most clarifying.
What DARC treats
DARC supports children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, speech delay, language delay, developmental delay, global developmental delay, handwriting and fine motor challenges, school readiness concerns, feeding difficulties, meltdown and emotional regulation challenges, low muscle tone, toe walking, primitive reflex retention, and non-verbal communication needs.
Therapy combinations — OT, speech, sensory integration, behavioural support, special education, parent coaching — are determined by the assessment for each child individually.
Privacy, consistency, and senior-led care
At DARC, the same therapist who assesses your child treats your child. There is no rotation through assistants or handoffs after the first appointment. Parents in Poes Garden, Boat Club Road, and Alwarpet consistently cite this consistency as the reason they chose DARC over larger hospital-based programmes.
Session slots are fixed to your child's therapist. Monthly reviews are scheduled as part of the plan, not requested separately.
How to book
Book a consultation at either DARC branch via WhatsApp (+91 80151 52682 for Ashok Nagar, +91 88705 29103 for Pallikaranai) or through the online booking page. Dr. Aaditya's consultation fee is ₹3,000.
For families who are unsure whether an assessment is needed, the free Child Development Check gives a clear starting direction in under 10 minutes.
